The study with a qualitative approach and phenomenological design, aimed at understanding experiences of accompaniment through equine therapy for boys and girls with disabilities, from a multidisciplinary approach. The results show that this practice integrates therapeutic, educational, sensory and socio-emotional dimensions of the participants, because if they begin with fear or distrust, the accompaniment of the team and family support contribute to strengthening their security, confidence and participation in the interaction with the horse. From a specialized perspective, progress is highlighted in sensory regulation, posture, sustained attention and therapeutic bond; while, from the family perspective, support through equine therapy helps to improve calm, autonomy, emotional expression, participation in usual activities and functional language. It is concluded that equine therapy, if developed from a multidisciplinary approach, promotes socioemotional, communicative and psychomotor development in boys and girls with disabilities.
