Anxiety is a worldwide problem, making adolescents a vulnerable group. This is a basic research study with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental design. The STAI Inventory and a data collection form were used to measure anxiety in a population of 120 students. The STAI Inventory and a data collection form were used. After analysis, 79.2% presented moderate anxiety and 79.1% average performance. Statistically, a significant (p=0.000) moderate and indirect (r=-0.458) relationship was evident. It was concluded that as anxiety levels increase in students, their academic performance decreases, due to its impact on concentration.
