The study was located in the quantitative approach, descriptive level and correlational design. It was aimed at determining the degree of correlation between geometric communication and use of geometric language in the construction of a formal argumentative discourse in secondary education students. The data were collected from a sample of fourth and fifth grade secondary school students from a public educational institution. The results show that geometric communication and the use of geometric language are positively and significantly correlated, according to the values obtained with Spearman's rho correlation coefficient; in the same way as each of the two dimensions of the first variable with the second. It is concluded that, in geometry, the better the formal argumentative communicative performance, the better the use of specialized language.
