Nowadays, when we talk about immigration and integration it is important to consider a series of social, economical and polical dynamics that surpasses national boundaries. The development of ethnic ties, the (re)configuration of a religious minority or creating a sense of belonging and community are the result of a symbiosis between social structure and individual agency where religious dimension often plays a leading part. We propose in this article reflect on the different roles of religion in the integration processes in modern societies outlining some key concepts from classical and contemporary theoretical frameworks. We begin our approach updating the notions of solidarity and social capital passing by the breakdown of some mediating factors of cohesion and its relationship with the rituals and processes of (re) construction of collective emotions. A posteriori, we analyzed the assoFLation between ethnicity and religious minority underlining their orientations and structural effects on companies seeking to offer a broad theoretical and methodological frame for future fields of study on religion and social cohesion.
