Social and Economic Aspects of the Brazilian Agrarian Reform Community Quinta da Serra in Viçosa - Alagoas

This work was developed based on a study developed in the establishment of the agrarian reform Quinta da Serra, located in the municipality of Viçosa, state of Alagoas, Brazil, which previously had sugarcane as its economic activity. At least three questions stand out on the results presented: the question of gender, age and ethnicity. It presented low indices related to the production and distribution of the products, as well as, around the social and economic reality of the settlers, low human development index and a poor distribution of income, that reflects in the quotidian of the population that lives in the settlements.
