Emotions in Social Perception of Risk in Rural Youth of Colima, Mexico

This article originates from the project "Risk and vulnerability in youth of Colima: a qualitative analysis from their daily lives," which seeks to analyze the conditions of risk and vulnerability that Colima’s youth face in their daily lives, with the objective of obtaining useful information that can contribute to improving the quality of life of young people and create a system of indicators and framework references about risk in urban and rural contexts in the state of Colima framework. What is presented here specifically is: what role do emotions have in the perception of risk of rural youth have risk? This paper is divided in four sections, the first defines how we understand four key categories: emotions, perception, rural youth and risk. The second describes the methodological strategy used to generate empirical evidence. The third presents the findings and in the fourth section some concluding remarks are made.
