Abstract

Our study aims to examine whether a public policy suggested by the Government of the State of São Paulo: the Seal "Age-Friendly City" may significantly impact the idea of local / regional development by municipalities which accede to her. To this end, we seek to develop a qualitative exploratory study, abeam of systematic literature readings crafted in course taken in the Graduate Program in Social Work from UNESP / Franca. Thus, we seek to carry out a reflection on two contemporary concepts: the human aging and the development of a perspective beyond economic dimension, only. It follows in work, the possible conclusions from this exercise.

É Assistente Social da Universidade Federal de São Carlos – UFSCar, graduada em Serviço Social pela Universidade Estadual Paulistas “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” – UNESP/Franca e mestre em Gerontologia Social pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo – PUC/SP. É doutoranda em Serviço Social pela UNESP/Franca e atua principalmente nos temas: Serviço Social, políticas públicas e envelhecimento humano.
