Beyond the headline: responsible communication, hate speech, and the democratic risks of presidential coverage in Mexico, 2025

Objective. To examine the national media coverage of October 6, 2025, through the Brif Media platform, regarding the presentation of the first results report of President Sheibaum. Methodology. Analytical design of the news articles (n=85) published by 16 Mexican media outlets. Results. A neutral editorial tone (52%) and inclusive language (69%) were observed. There is a negative narrative of 'symbolic dependence' on the autonomy of the presidential figure (58%). Conclusions. Subtle mechanisms of symbolic subordination and hate speech in the Mexican information ecosystem must be countered through guidelines such as journalistic ethics and responsible communication.
