Abstract

Congenital heart diseases are malformations of the heart present in the newborn. This study aims to detect if the biomedical variables at birth and at the time of surgery affect the neurodevelopment of 80 participants, without associated chromosomal abnormalities or prematurity, assessed through Bayley-III. The results show that the biomedical variables at the time of the surgical intervention (duration of the operation, clamping, age of surgery and postsurgical stay) are significant in neurodevelopment. There is evidence of a slowdown in the levels of development reached in the language area from 12 months to 42.
