Sustainability is a global challenge that demands more equitable and responsible organizations, where responsible leadership is consolidated as a key competency in project management. This leadership involves achieving organizational objectives by integrating collective well-being, social cohesion, and environmental impact into decision-making. Within the framework of the RESPRO project, this research analyzes its incorporation into higher education through focus groups and surveys conducted at universities in Spain, Finland, Latvia, and Austria. Students' perceptions, pedagogical strategies, and their link to professional preparation are examined. The results reveal significant training gaps. Consequently, a redesign of academic programs is proposed to integrate responsible leadership as a cross-cutting competency, incorporating methodologies that strengthen employability and promote sustainable management.
